knows the facts about Canadian airlines of corona virus policies

The entire world has turned topsy-turvy during the Coronavirus outbreak, especially for the travellers as they have to reschedule or cancel their existing travel plans due to the government-imposed travel restrictions. If you are someone who falls in this category and would want to know about cancellation and refund policies of the Canadian airlines, you’ve landed at the right site.

Let’s take a look at the refund and cancellation policies provided by the Canadian airlines:

Air Canada

Air Canada will be providing full credit for 24 months if your flight gets cancelled. The airline will contact the customers directly. There will be no cancellation fee for flights booked before March 31, 2020, rather you will be receiving credit for future flights before March 31, 2021. The flight change will be for free if your rebooked travel dates are before December 31st, 2020. A number of self-service tools are enabled for the customers so that the travel itineraries can be managed online. So, even if your Toronto to Cochin flight gets cancelled, do not worry at all as you’ll be getting credits for future travel.

WestJet

A one-time fee waiver is allowed for the passengers who are planning to cancel or reschedule their flight. You will be liable for getting a future travel credit for 24 months. Refunds in the form of payment are not being given by this airline.

Air Transat

In case the flight gets cancelled by the airline, you will get a credit that can be used before 24 months of the original travel date. You can change your travel date 24 hours before your departure without paying any extra charges.

If you have booked your flight before March 4, 2020, you can reschedule or cancel your flight, and receive a travel credit that should be used before December 31, 2020.

Sunwing

The airline has decided to provide a travel credit for the passengers, who had air ticket reservations until 30th April, 2020. The customers will be contacted by the airline through email. The validity of travel credits is up to 24 months.

Flair

The airline has decided to waive off the re-booking fee for the flights scheduled for March or April(regardless of the booking date). However, the customers are liable to pay the difference in case the new flight is more expensive.
